For Minnesota work injuries on or after October 1, 2018, the maximum weekly workers' compensation benefit is $1,098.54 and the minimum is $130.00, based on a statewide average weekly wage (SAWW) of $1,077.00. On October 1, 2019, the maximum changed to $1,134.24 for new injuries.

What these numbers mean
Most Minnesota wage-loss benefits (TTD, TPD, PTD) pay two-thirds of the worker’s average weekly wage, capped at the maximum for the date of injury. With a maximum of $1,098.54, the cap is reached at an average weekly wage of about $1,647.81 (because $1,647.81 × 2/3 = $1,098.54). Anyone earning more than that gets the same capped rate.
The rate in effect on the date of injury applies for the life of the claim. A later October increase does not raise an existing claim’s cap; instead, benefits on older claims grow through the annual adjustment under Minn. Stat. § 176.645.
